Solving Problems with a Bullet Journal

Am I the only one who owns way too much stationery? Probably not. There is something special about buying new pens and notebooks. You feel productive like you have your life in order. Unfortunately, buying stationery is just an illusion of productivity. You probably won't study more just because you own five notebooks with cheesy inspirational quotes on the cover. Or at least I don't. There are two reasons for that. Firstly, I write all my notes and essays using my laptop, and secondly, I seem to never want to touch my notebooks in fear of ruining them with notes that aren't worthy of such a beautiful notebook. It's a struggle. It really is.
Anyway, I have way too much stationery, but I don't have the heart to declutter anything. When it comes to my notebooks I just don't have the heart to throw them out. My friends have way too much stationery themselves so I can't give it to them (even if I had the heart to declutter them), it feels wasteful to just throw them in the trash, and I really want to use them up. This basically means that I should just start mind mapping all my book ideas already and stop whining.
What I've decided to do is to start bullet journaling. I'm sure most of you know what that is, but for the few of you who don't I'll try to summarize it in two sentences: A bullet journal is a notebook in which you make your own planner to fit all your needs. You also include all your notes and to do lists so you have everything you need in one place. Did that make sense? No? Google it.
My bullet journal is now one of my dearest possessions. Writing in it is fun, I can keep track of everything in one place, I feel strangely productive and I'm using a notebook and pens that I can later declutter. A lot of people keep their bullet journals after they are full, but I do believe I'll just throw mine out as soon as it's full. There's no room for sentiment in my desk any longer. To quote Cumberbatch's Sherlock "Sentiment is a chemical defect found on the losing side."
One day down the line you might get to see a page or two from my bullet journal, but today is not that day. I'm still figuring it all out, and I'm not particularly proud of any pages yet. They are kind of plain. Remind me in three months if you still want to see some pages then.
