The Panning Community
If you enjoy using makeup and you haven't heard of the panning community, girl do I have some news for you! The panning community is a fast growing group of makeup lovers who more or less object to the consumerism that surrounds the makeup world. The people in the community have decided to use their makeup as much as they can instead of falling for all the advertising and purchasing new things and letting everything else go bad.
There are loads of different people in the community. There are a lot of people who are on no-buys and refusing to purchase more makeup until they've used up a certain amount of what they have, there are people who continue to purchase makeup but make sure they use everything they have, and there are people, who do the panning thing completely differently. The only true goal is to learn what kind of makeup you actually love and use and become more conscious of your spending.
I myself have only recently joined the community. I've been downsizing for a long time and when I stumbled upon the panning community I felt like I had finally found my people. As you may have understood I want to become more of a minimalist. In order to achieve a minimalist makeup collection I have to use up some of the makeup I currently own.
Here's two pictures of my makeup collection. One is from November 2011 and the other is from a few weeks ago. My makeup collection was probably at its biggest around 2012/2013 and that is when I started decluttering it and giving things away to friends who would enjoy things more than me. I do believe I've come a long way. What do you guys think?
It looks like I've always enjoyed lip products and eyeshadows the most.
If you want to join the community and follow my panning journey. Head over to instagram and give me a follow. There's a link under the header.
